Atlanta, GA

I'm home! There's a pile of bills and junk mail on the table and phone messages to return, but I'm not going to think about it yet. I'm not even going to unpack.

I call Jeff, Charles and Michael to find out when we're meeting, what's going on, etc. We get to the Red Light Cafe about two hours too early (which seems to be my specialty, actually, and I'm thinking of making it some kind of band motto), then set up and do sound check. I have not been managing to stay in tune for even two songs this week, and it's driving me completely insane.

People start coming in, and it's so great to see everybody. Everyone hugs me and asks how the tour went, and I feel loved. We're opening for two other bands, Hannibal Jones and Charm School, so we play one set. It's so much fun. Even though we haven't practiced in two weeks - I don't even think we've played with Mikey since May - it's possibly the best gig we've ever had. I love having them back again; they give me energy and make the songs sound the way they're supposed to, and I can just sing and enjoy myself. I love having a band! Thanks for a great homecoming, guys!
